Priyanka Gandhi Vadra condemns Assam CM Sarma’s ‘shameful’ remarks on Kharge
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday strongly condemned remarks made by the Assam's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma against Congress President and Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha, Mallikarjun Kharge,is rude, extremely shameful and unacceptable.
Gandhi said,Kharge Ji is one of the most senior leaders of the country. He is not only a representative of the Congress Party but also an enlightened representative of the country's Dalits and the deprived sections.
By insulting Kharge Ji, the BJP Chief Minister has insulted crores of people in the country, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said.
The controversy erupted after Sarma, said the Congress chief was “speaking like a mad man” due to old age — remarks that triggered sharp backlash from the opposition.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji should clearly state before the country whether he agrees with this insult to crores of Indians?
The Congress party has demanded an unconditional apology from Sarma, accusing him of “deplorable conduct” that reflects what it described as the BJP’s “anti-Dalit mindset”.
