Madhya Pradesh: Truck Runs Over 6 People Standing by Roadside; 5 Dead in Dindori

(Fast Mail):--Five people died and one person was critically injured in a road accident early Sunday morning on the Jabalpur-Amarkantak National Highway in the Dindori district of Madhya Pradesh.

A police official said, the accident occurred when a truck ran over six people who were standing along the roadside. He said that all the victims were returning to their village in a pickup vehicle when one of the vehicle's tires went flat near Kikratalab village. The individuals had stepped out of the pickup and were standing on the road.

Dindori Superintendent of Police Vahini Singh confirmed that five people, including the pickup driver, died at the scene, while one person sustained critical injuries and has been admitted to a hospital.

She said, "While the driver was fixing the flat tire, all the passengers stepped out of the vehicle. It was at that moment that a truck ran them over."

She added that the police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. The police have arrested the truck driver and seized the vehicle.
