Lebanon Says Israel Talks To Take Place On April 14 In Washington

(Fast Mail):--  Even after the ceasefire between the United States and Iran in the Middle East, regional tensions do not appear to have fully subsided. Meanwhile, Israel continues to carry out attacks on Lebanon. However, in a significant move to bring the situation under control, Israel has held direct telephone talks with Lebanon through its diplomats in Washington.

This is being seen as an important step towards reducing tensions between the two countries.

According to a statement issued by the Lebanese Presidential Office, the talks were held at the initiative of the United States, and the US Ambassador posted in Lebanon also took part in them.

Notably, Israel and Lebanon have had no formal diplomatic relations for a long time.

Following these talks, both countries have now agreed to hold face-to-face meetings in Washington on April 14. The meeting will be organized at the US State Department, where discussions on ceasefire-related issues are expected.

Diplomatic sources believe that the proposed meeting could play a key role in reducing the heightened tensions in the border areas over the past few months. The entire process is being considered part of America’s ceasefire plan, aimed at establishing stability in the region.

On the other hand, Lebanese officials say that in recent days, the intensity of Israeli attacks has increased, resulting in a large number of deaths and thousands of injuries.

The continuation of attacks even after the ceasefire announcement has further complicated the situation.

Israel claims that the ceasefire does not apply to Lebanon, while Iran asserts that Lebanon was also included in its scope.

In this context, Iran has warned that if attacks on Lebanon continue, the peace process could be affected.
