Nepal army is buying military equipment worth $30 million from China

Kathmandu, May 4 (Fast Mail News):-- The Nepalese Army is completing the procurement process of military equipment worth $30 million with China. Such material is exclusively for UN peacekeeping forces on behalf of the Nepalese Army.

 

The Army has advanced the procurement process for 26 Armored Corvettes (APCs) and 94 tactical vehicles. After canceling the contract for the purchase of such military equipment with Russia, Nepal is now going to buy from China's Norinco company.

 

Nepali Army spokesman Krishna Prasad Bhandari claimed that he had not received any information about this. He, however, added that the army is procuring the necessary material.

 

The military equipment the army is going to buy from China is worth $30 million. It is understood that the total cost of the military equipment is 32.788 million dollars.

 

Reliable sources have told that Chinese Ambassador Chen Song had secret talks with Nepal's defense and military officials regarding the process of buying military equipment from China. The activity of arms agents and middlemen close to the government has increased as there is a huge commission for procuring such items.

 

China is increasing its military activities in Nepal. Chinese companies have got the contract for the fast track, which was under the responsibility of the Nepali Army. After the opinion of the army, the government approved to bring the necessary explosives from China for the work of those companies. The explosives were brought into Nepal by road.
