Odisha minister Naba Das critically injured after being shot by police officer

BRAJARAJNAGAR:Odisha health minister and senior BJD leader Naba Das was griveously injured when an Assistant Sub-inspector of police fired atleast five rounds of bullets towrds him this morning.The incident occured when Naba Das ,the minister was on an official tour of Brajarajnagar this morninjg.

According to reports,the minister was shot at by an assistant sub inspector(ASI) near Gandhi Chhak in Brajarajnagar when the minister was stepping out of his vehicle and was on his way to attend an event.

The accused ASI has been identified as Gopal Das.Police detained him and him and have been investigating into the matter.Meanwhile,the chief minister has announced for crime branch inquiry into the incident.

In a critical condition he has been admitted to Jharsuguda district headquarter hospital.Later,the minister is being air-lifted to Bhubaneswar for treatment,according to sources.Meanwhile,SDPO Gupteswar Bhoi said,"The minister was shot at by one ASI and it is being inquired into as to why the ASI shot him.

The accused reportedly shot four to five rounds of shots,according to sources.
