PM to visit Mandya and Hubli-Dharwad in Karnataka on March 12
The Prime Minister's Office said that on March 12, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of projects worth about Rs 16,000 crore in Karnataka. At around 12 noon, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of major road projects in Mandya. After this, he will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various development works in Hubli-Dharwad at around 3:15 pm.
In Mandya, the Prime Minister will dedicate the Bengaluru-Mysore Expressway to the nation. The project includes 6-laning of the Bengaluru-Nidaghatta-Mysore section of NH-275. The 118 kilometer long project has been developed at a total cost of about Rs 8480 crore. It will reduce the travel time between Bengaluru and Mysuru from about 3 hours to about 75 minutes. It will act as a catalyst for socio-economic development in the region.
The Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of the Mysuru-Khushalnagar 4-laning highway. Spread over 92 km, this project will be developed at a cost of about Rs 4130 crore. This project will play a vital role in boosting the connectivity of Kushalnagar with Bengaluru. It will also help in reducing the travel time from about 5 to only 2.5 hours.
During his visit, Prime Minister Shri Siddhartha Swamiji will dedicate to the nation the world's longest railway platform at Hubli station. It has recently been recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records. The 1507 meter long platform has been built at a cost of about Rs 20 crore.
The Prime Minister will dedicate the electrification of the Hospete-Hubli-Tinaighat section and upgradation of the Hospete station to boost connectivity in the region. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects of Hubli-Dharwad Smart City. The total estimated cost of these projects is around Rs 520 crore.
Apart from this, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of Jaidev Hospital and Research Center. The hospital will be developed at a cost of around Rs 250 crore and will provide tertiary cardiac care to the people of the area. To enhance the water supply in the region, the Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Dharwad Bahu Gram Jalpurti Yojana, which will be developed at a cost of over Rs 1040 crore.
