Priyanka Gandhi condemns the killing of journalists by Israel in Gaza

(Fast Mail):--Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi strongly condemned the killing of five Al-Jazeera journalists in Gaza, calling it a heinous crime on Palestinian soil that can never be justified.

She emphasised that the courage to stand for truth will not be broken by Israeli violence and hatred.

According to Al-Jazeera, the journalists, including senior reporter Anas al-Sharif, were killed in a targeted Israeli airstrike on their camp in Gaza City.

In a post on X, Priyanka Gandhi praised the journalists for reminding the world of the true meaning of journalism despite pressures on the media. She also prayed for the departed souls.

The United Nations Human Rights Office labeled the airstrike a serious violation of international humanitarian law. Priyanka Gandhi has consistently voiced solidarity with Palestinians and criticized Israeli actions in Gaza.

The Congress MP had, on the morning of 12 August, posted on X to state, "The Israeli state is committing genocide. It has murdered over 60,000 people, 18,340 of whom were children."

She concluded: "It is shameful that the Indian Government stands silent as Israel unleashes this devastation on the people of Palestine."

The ambassador continued on a rant that repeated two more oft-cited Israeli / IDF tropes — the one claiming the civilian casualties are due to Hamas hiding in residential spaces and another claiming the food entering Gaza is looted by Hamas.
