Priyanka in Amethi says PM Modi doesn't hear people's plights, talks 'irrelevant'

AMETHI:Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Tuesday accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi that he does not respect the people and only talks unnecessarily.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi was addressing an election public meeting organized in Kesariya in support of the party candidate from Amethi, Kishori Lal Sharma.

In her long speech of about 45 minutes, she accused the Prime Minister of not visiting any farmer's house and said, "Yesterday he did a road show in Varanasi, stood on such a big  vehicle and was waving hands while standing among the security personnel." , How does he know what sorrow you have, he is seen only with Seths,Priyanka said.

Comparing him with her brother, Priyanka Gandhi said, "He (Modi) never heard your plight but the one whom you defeated, that is, my brother (Rahul Gandhi) traveled 4,000kilometers from Kashmir to Kanyakumari to listen to the problems of the countrymen."

Priyanka Gandhi, without naming Amethi MP and Union Minister Smriti Irani, accused her of doing negative politics and said that when you allowed the negative politics to emerge, you ended accountability towards the public in 10 years.

She said, "Even the Prime Minister, who holds the highest post in this country, does not respect the people of this country so much that if he has come to campaign in the elections and ask for votes, then at least he should respect the people this much." Tell us what he has done for you in the last 10 years”.

She appealed to the voters, "You people, raise your voice that we do not want to hear about buffaloes, about Mangalsutra, do not talk about temples and mosques at the time of elections, talk about solutions to our problems at the time of elections."

Priyanka Gandhi said that when she was young and had come here to campaign, her father (Rajiv Gandhi) had asked her to count the development work.

She said, "When I was young, my father sent me here to campaign, so he told me to go and tell about the work we have done and say that if you people vote, he will do more development."

Praising late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Priyanka Gandhi said, "Not only Rajiv Gandhi, the BJP Prime Minister who followed him Atal Bihari Vajpayee was also a decent human being, he had respect for the people, he understood that the people were there is some accountability, some work has to be done”.

She said, “The Prime Minister of the country cannot tell you what he has done for the farmers. They distract you by talking here and there.”

Claiming the development of Amethi during the tenure of her father Rajiv Gandhi, mother Sonia Gandhi and brother Rahul Gandhi, she linked Amethi with family ties and said, "You joke, you love and when you have to scold, you scold. The faith that remained was not one-sided. You established a tradition both here and in Rae Bareli”.

Intensifying her attack on Smriti Irani, she said, "Her motive has never been positive, it has been negative." She came to fulfill the purpose of her politics, the purpose was fulfilled, brother lost in the last elections and then there is no sign of development or work|.
