Rahul Gandhi Slams BJP Over Missing Thousands of Forest Rights Titles in Chhattisgarh

(Fast Mail News):-- Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has accused the BJP of snatching the rights of Adivasis by raising the issue of thousands of missing forest rights titles in several districts of Chhattisgarh.

The Congress leader stated that "Erase documents, steal rights—this is the new weapon the BJP has devised to oppress marginalized communities."

Sharing a news report on X, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi wrote, "Erase documents, steal rights—this is the new weapon the BJP has devised to oppress marginalized communities. Somewhere they remove the names of Dalits and backward classes from voter lists, and elsewhere they make Adivasis' forest rights titles ‘disappear.’

In Bastar, 2,788 titles, and in Rajnandgaon, more than half—thousands of forest rights titles in Chhattisgarh have suddenly gone missing."

Rahul Gandhi further said that the Congress had enacted the Forest Rights Act to protect the water, forests, and land of Adivasis, but the BJP is weakening it and stripping them of their primary rights.

"We will not let this happen—Adivasis are the original owners of this country, and we will protect their rights at all costs."

It is noteworthy that a report by The Hindu revealed that forest rights titles of Adivasis have gone missing from the concerned department in several districts of Chhattisgarh.

According to the report, 2,788 forest rights titles were found missing in Bastar district. In Rajnandgaon, community forest resource titles decreased by 50 percent within a month last year. Rahul Gandhi has targeted the BJP government over this very issue.
