Talcher police solves sensational kidnapping and murder case
The incident was so sensational that it hit almost the entire population of Talcher while the police were cornered and had sleepless nights. The lone arrested has been identified as Ananda Naik of village Salagadia under Banarpal police station.
On April27,a youth Biswajit Naik, the son of Bimal Naik belonging to Langijoda village and residing at Deulbera colony was found missing. At about 1.30pm there was a telephone call to Biswajit after which he went away with his scooter but since then he didn’t return.
The family members made a frantic search for him but couldn’t trace. Then lodged a complaint at Colliery police station that their son was missing. Then after all the police stations at Talcher and Angul were alerted and searched for Biswajit. On May 5,a highly decomposed body was found at a nullah along with the scooter near village Sibarampur under Talcher police station.
Under the direction of the SP Rahul Jain, police lodged a vigorous investigation into it and finally arrived at a conclusion that it was a murder case.SP said that by the help of cyber experts the culprits behind were identified and raided. While police arrested Anand Naik, four other accused were identified and absconded.
He said the love angles between Bimal and Anand was the motive behind the murder. Anand called Biswajit on April 27to Deulbera stadium from where they kidnapped Anand to Sibarampur village area. There they made him unconscious and put Biswajit under the back wheel of a standing truck on the NH. Then they told the driver to start the vehicle. Driver started the vehicle by which Biswajit Was killed. They wanted to show that it was an accidental death. Then they dumped the body in a nullah, also the scooter and fled away.
SP said.by vigorous investigations and help of cyber experts, the culprits were tracked and the case was solved. Efforts are under way to nab the remaining culprit.
