Tata Steel Meramandali Drives Tree Plantation in Angul and Dhenkanal

In a joint initiative with the District Administrations of Angul and Dhenkanal, Tata Steel Meramandali (TSM) conducted an extensive tree plantation drive under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0”. Employee volunteers from TSM actively participated in planting saplings across key locations including the Angul Municipality area, peripheral schools in Banarpal, and the TSM Biodiversity Park in Odapada block of Dhenkanal.

The event was graced by Akshaya Samanta, Chairman, Angul Municipality, Anupama Sahu, Vice Chairman, Angul Municipality, Satya Prakash Tripathy, Executive Officer, Angul Municipality and Mohit Das, Chief, Corporate Services, Tata Steel.

As part of the campaign, approximately 1,000 trees were planted in Angul and 6,000 trees in Dhenkanal, totalling around 7,000 trees across multiple locations. The plantation drive, which began last week, reflects a strong collective commitment to environmental sustainability.

On this occasion, Tata Steel Foundation organized plantation activities in schools and communities within TSM’s peripheral areas, further promoting environmental stewardship and awareness.

Through these initiatives, Tata Steel Meramandali continues to lead the way in fostering environmental consciousness and sustainable development across Angul and Dhenkanal.
