Kolkata, Apr 7, (Fast Mail News):-- Kolkata Knight Riders started with a win at home ground Eden Gardens. Knight Riders beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 81 runs. After this victory of KKR, a congratulatory message has come from West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. The Chief Minister congratulated the bravehearts by tweeting. Mamta tweeted, “Today's win is memorable as it is the first match of the season at Eden Gardens. Best wishes to KKR. Every player gave his best on the field. Best wishes for the upcoming matches."
Batting first, KKR scored 204 for 7 with the help of Afghan wicketkeeper-batsman Rahmanullah Gurbaz's 57 off 44 balls, Shardul Thakur's 68 off 29 balls and Rinku Singh's 46 off 33 balls. In response, RCB's innings ended on 123 runs. Kohli started in an attacking mood with skipper Faf du Plessis coming out to bat. But could not make a big pair like the first match against KKR. Kohli scored 21 runs in 18 balls with the help of 3 fours before being dismissed by Sunil Narine. Du Plessis is dismissed by Varun Chakraborty. The RCB skipper scored 23 runs off 12 balls. Sunil Narayan took 2 wickets for 16 runs. Varun Chakraborty supported him. Varun took 4 wickets for 15 runs.
