West Bengal:6 killed as car hits devotees returning from Deoghar Babadham

 KOLKATA: In Bagdogra, West Bengal, 6 Kanwariyas returning after offering water to Lord Shiva in Deoghar died in a road accident. A car hit the devotees walking on foot. The accident took place in Bagdogra, West Bengal.

On Monday of the month of Shravan, the car passengers were going towards Sikkim after offering water to Lord Shiva from Babadham. The Kanwariyas were going towards the Jangli Baba temple located in Bagdogra Reserve Forest. All were residents of Danaganj area of ??Phansidewa.

According to eyewitnesses, the car coming from Babadham went out of control and overturned, crushing 6 people walking on National Highway 31. The car was shattered. All the people in the vehicle were injured, who were taken out with great difficulty and immediately sent to North Bengal Medical College Hospital.

 

 

  As soon as the accident was reported, Bagdogra police, traffic guard personnel, and fire department employees reached the spot. The injured were taken out of the car and further action was started. As soon as the information was received, the residents of Danaganj area and the relatives of the deceased reached the spot and there was a lot of screaming. The accident took place near Muni Tea Garden near Bagdogra.

 An eyewitness described it as a head-on collision. According to him, "The car was going very fast and a group of Kanwariyas was coming from the other side. As soon as it reached the people, the car went out of control and hit the people and fell down."

At present, the police is investigating the matter and is deployed at the spot.
