Two Coaches of Trivandrum-Delhi Rajdhani Express Engulfed in Flames, 68 Passengers Safely Evacuated

 A major fire broke out in two coaches of the Trivandrum-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express (12431) near Ratlam in Madhya Pradesh on Sunday morning, causing panic among passengers.

The incident occurred around 5:30 AM between Looney and Vikramgarh railway stations.The fire started in Coach B-1, which had 68 passengers on board. Following the incident, rail traffic on the Delhi-Mumbai route was severely affected, and several trains had to be halted at various stations.

According to reports, the train was heading towards Delhi-Nizamuddin when smoke and flames were seen rising from Coach B-1. The guard immediately informed the loco pilot, and the train was stopped right away. Within moments, the fire spread to two coaches.

 

 The towering flames created a huge commotion in the surrounding area.After the incident, RPF staff and other railway personnel present on the train promptly initiated rescue operations.

Passengers were quickly evacuated from the affected coaches. It is reported that the entire coach was emptied within about 15 minutes. The timely deboarding prevented a major tragedy. The train’s power supply was also immediately disconnected to prevent the fire from spreading further.

As soon as information about the incident was received, a relief and rescue team was dispatched from the Kota Railway Division.

 Senior officials and technical staff from the Kota Division also reached the spot. Currently, traffic on the Delhi-Mumbai railway track has been stopped, and the situation is being closely monitored.
