UP: Rahul Gandhi meets Valmiki family, assures help and demands stringent punishment for the culprits

Rahul Gandhi expressed his condolences to the bereaved family and assured them of all possible assistance. Chaudhary Bhakt Das, a member of the victim's family, said that Rahul Gandhi spoke to the victim's family.

Upon meeting Hariom Valmiki's family, Rahul Gandhi said, "A few days ago, an IPS officer from Haryana committed suicide. I went there, and today I'm here. This family has done nothing wrong. Their son and brother were beaten to death. Yet, these people are being treated like criminals. They're not even allowed to go out. Dalits are being oppressed all over the country. I appeal to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to investigate this matter and punish the culprits severely."

As per reports,Rahul Gandhi was prevented from meeting the family while congress workers gathered at the scene and began shouting slogans. Congress leaders accused the administration of preventing the meeting.

Hariom, a Dalit, was beaten to death by a mob on October 2 in the Unchahar area of ??Rae Bareli district. Videos of the beating and the body later surfaced, sparking widespread outrage.
