UP:Criminal trying to escape from police custody killed in police firing

NEW DELHI: In Uttar Pradesh, a criminal was killed after being shot when he was trying to escape from police custody in Shahjahanpur. Police have identified the deceased as Sehwaj. Sehwaz was accused of murdering a person named Alok Kumar and injuring his family members. According to the police,the accused Sehwaz had entered Alok's house to commit robbery. Getting information about Alok's murder and his family members being injured, the police arrested the accused Sehwaz.

According to SP Ashok Kumar Meena,the accused Sehwaz while was being taken to present him in the local court, he tried to escape.As soon as the police team moved towards the court with him, suddenly many cattle came face to face on the road. During this time as the driver of the vehicle could not control his vehicle it collided. Taking advantage of this, the accused started trying to escape from the spot.

Sehwaz snatched the pistol of a policeman and started running away from there. He also fired several rounds at the police team. Later,the police fired in self-defence.Sehwaz was shot in police retaliatory firing and died on the spot.
