Will BJP Come Again In Karnataka Or It Turns For Congress?

NEW DELHI:The counting of votes for the Karnataka assembly elections and the UP civic elections will take place at 8 am today.There is every possibility that the results of the election will come by evening and it will be clear that whose government will be formed in Karnataka.

Karnataka is witnessing a tough fight between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Congress, apart from the JD(S). The candidates of these parties are eagerly waiting for the election results. Top leaders - including state Chief Minister and BJP leader Basavaraj Bommai, Congress leader Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar and JD(S)'s HD Kumaraswamy among others - will be known on Saturday. The counting of votes will take place at 36 centers across the state amid tight security arrangements.

Elaborate security arrangements have been made across the state, especially in and around the counting centers to avoid any untoward incident. A "record" voter turnout of 73.19 per cent was recorded in the elections to the 224-member assembly in the state on May 10. With most exit polls predicting a close contest between the Congress and the BJP, leaders of both the parties seem "restless" about the results, while the JD(S) seems to be expecting a hung mandate , which would give it a chance to play a role in government formation.
