'Ab Ki Bar, Vote Choro Ki Har' : Rahul Gandhi on Vote Adhikar Yatra

(Fast Mail News):--Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and former Congress president Rahul Gandhi will launch the "Vote Adhikar Yatra" on August 17 to protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists and alleged "vote theft."

The Yatra will begin in Sasaram and conclude on September 1 with a "Voter Adhikar Rally" at Patna’s historic Gandhi Maidan.

Rahul Gandhi will be joined by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav and other key leaders of the INDIA alliance in Bihar.

On Thursday, Rahul Gandhi announced via social media that the Congress and its allied parties are set to wage a battle against "vote theft" from the soil of Bihar.

He emphasised that this is not just an electoral issue but a fight to protect democracy.

In a post on X, Rahul wrote, “Starting August 17, with #VoterAdhikarYatra, we are launching a direct fight against vote theft from the soil of Bihar. This is not just an electoral issue—it is a decisive battle to protect democracy, the Constitution, and the principle of ‘one man, one vote.”

He further added, “We will ensure a clean voter list across the entire country. Youth, workers, farmers—every citizen, rise and join this people’s movement. This time, the defeat of vote thieves—the victory of the people, the victory of the Constitution.”

Earlier, Congress General Secretary (Organisation) KC Venugopal visited Sasaram on Wednesday to review preparations for the yatra’s launch.

The Yatra will commence with a public meeting at Sasaram’s Railway Ground on Sunday. It will then pass through Aurangabad, Gaya, Nawada, Nalanda, Sheikhpura, Lakhisarai, Munger, Bhagalpur, Katihar, Purnea, Araria, Supaul, Madhubani, Darbhanga, Sitamarhi, East Champaran, West Champaran, Gopalganj, Siwan, Chhapra, and Ara.
