India women’s cricket team advanced to the semi-final of the Asian Games Women’s Cricket Competition 2023 after the match was abandoned against Malaysia women due to rain in Quarter-final 1 today.

Put into bat first, India posted 173/2 in a 15-over-a-side game. Openers Smriti Mandhana (27) and Shafali Verma put on a 57-run stand. After the dismissal of Smriti, Shafali and Jemimah Rodrigues forged an 86-run stand for the second wicket, giving India a solid platform to set the target.
