Asia's largest Tulip Garden attracts 1.35 lakh tourists in 10 days
Situated between the famous Dal Lake and the Jabarwan hills and spread over 52.5 hectares, the Indira Gandhi Tulip Garden Srinagar is attracting tourists with a colorful display of 1.6 million tulips of different colors and its 68 varieties.
Inam-ul-Rehman, in-charge of Tulip Garden, told that most of the people who have come so far have been tourists. He informed that around 1.35 lakh tourists have already visited our garden. The maximum proportion, around 70 per cent, is from outside the Union Territory, he added. Last year, 3.60 lakh tourists visited the park and this is the highest ever since it was first opened to the public.
He said that the Central Fountain Channel has been extended to higher terraces this year. There is a sky-high fountain and waterfalls, which have added to the beauty of the garden. Also said that we have put up decorative lights for the evening and many tourists stay in the garden till late evening.
