Bodies of Atiq and Ashraf cremated amid tight security in Prayagraj

 PRAYAGRAJ: The dead bodies of mafia Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf, who were shot by three assailants in Prayagraj, were cremated last (Sunday) night at the Kasari Masari cemetery here amid tight security.

 

 

 After the post-mortem, the bodies of Atiq and Ashraf were brought to the cemetery at around 6.30 pm, an official said.

Only a few distant relatives of the deceased were present on this occasion. None of the close relatives, namely Atiq's wife Shaista Parveen and his minor sons Ehzaan and Aban, were present. Apart from relatives, people other than relatives were allowed to enter the cemetery only after seeing their Aadhaar cards, the official said.
