Congress Leader Dr. Biswaranjan Mohanty Calls Odisha's 'Subhadra Yojana' a JUMLA

BHUBANESWAR: Congress has slammed BJP government over 'Subhadra Yojana' describing it as a Jumla while huge funds are being spent from the state exchequer for spreading propaganda over it.

Addressing a press conference here today Odisha congress Steering Committee member Dr. Biswaranjan Mohanty said that BJP in its  election meeting had promised to cover all the women in Odisha under Subhadra yoyana. But it has creates such confusion that no one can understand its much pronounced Subhadra Yoyana where in it promised rupees 5000 per head per year.Likewise,he said, the BJP party which came to power on protecting Odia Ashmita has introduced Gujarat model administration in the state. The party has planned to demolish Odia Ashmita by posting non-Odia officers in key posts in the state,Mohanty alleged.

Terming the Mohan Sarkar as Modani Sarkar by handing over  Gopalpur port to Adani, Mohanty has raised all these sensitive issues at a time when the prime Minister is visiting the state tomorrow to propagate Sundra Yojana.

He also said that the government has first told that it will be implemented from during ratha yatra and then it extended to August 15 and later,it failed to keep its promise by announcing another date marking the birth day of Narendra Modi. He also said the party before the election had promised to give rupees 50,000 in two years time but now it has stretched it to five years. He counted that one individual woman will get only 833 rupees per month and per day at 27 rupees. How can a woman will open a business in this meagre amount money and how can they will be empowered, he questioned.

While hundreds of crores of rupees are being spent for public relation exercises in fact only 30 per cent of our 2.5 c 25 crore women are being excluded from total strength of 2cr.25 lakhs women under this ambitious schemes. Out of this 13 per cent are under 18 years of age and 17 percent of over 60 years of age. He also said there is a condition that a family should not be getting rupees 1500 per month as government allowance and anybody in the family should not be an entrepreneur. These have been barred. Government should clarify that with that under these  conditions how many woman will be benefitted under the scheme,Mohanty said.

He described the government as a capitalist one when it has offloaded 95 per cent share of Gopalpur port to Adani and sacrificed Odia Ashmita by ushering in Gujarat model. When during Janaki Ballava Pattnaik government in 1980 – farmers Sweta Kranti was implemented by which 5 lakh farmers were benefitted immensely by this scheme. But now everything is now under capitalists elements. There is a plan to hand over Omfed to a Gujarat company,he charged.

”For this our struggle will be against Mohan alias Modani government”,Mohanty stated.

The culture and the history of Odisha is intertwined Gopalpur port,he alleged. He announced not to allow such things happened and promised that people of Odisha will vehemently oppose it and fight.

He said,”As per the Saha commission report,he said  there has been a massive mining corruption of rupees around 1.5lakh crore. Now the Mohan government has completed 100 days of office  but no fund was refunded to Chit fund  scam affected persons. The BJP had promised to refund the money of the chit fund victims when there was a scam of rupees 50,000 crore chit fund occurred in the state but the government has neither returned the money nor conducted any inquiry into the scam”.

Coming down heavily on the Odisha government,Mohanty said the family of the ASO has yet to get justice in connection with a case of assault by son of governor to the ASO. He also questioned  that how many days the people of Odisha will wait to get 1.5 crore mining revenue and justice to 20lakh chit fund depositors when prime minister is visiting the state tomorrow. Former congress Anant Sethy has expressed concerned over the spending of crore huge money from the state exchequer  to mark the visit of prime minister narendr Modi to the state.

Among others Congress leadr Sasmita Behera,Prashant Satpathy and manisha Das Pattnaik attended the press conference.
