French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne resigns

PARIS:French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday accepted the resignation of Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne,according to the President's Office.

Bourne's resignation follows recent political tensions over the controversial immigration law and other moves to increase the government's powers to deport some foreigners.

This law has the support of President Macron. Born was appointed Prime Minister in May 2022 after Macron was elected President for the second time. She was the second woman Prime Minister of the country.
