'BJP's politics based on hatred and discrimination, Rahul Gandhi on Odisha Dalit youths 'torture'

In a post on “X”,Rahul Gandhi said,”Forcing two Dalit youths in Odisha to crawl on their knees, eat grass, and drink dirty water is not only inhumane but also a barbaric manifestation of Manuvadi ideology”.

“This incident is a mirror for those who claim that caste is no longer an issue”,Gandhi wrote..

He said, every act that tramples the dignity of Dalits is an attack on Baba Saheb’s Constitution—a conspiracy against equality, justice, and humanity.

“Such incidents are becoming common in BJP-ruled states because their politics thrives on hatred and hierarchy. Atrocities against SCs, STs, and women have alarmingly increased, particularly in Odisha”Gandhi said.

The All India Trinmool Congress also condemned the incident. In a post on “x”,the party said,”In BJP- ruled Odisha, two Dalit men were brutally assaulted — half-tonsured, thrashed, forced to crawl on their knees, eat grass, and drink drain water. Their only ‘crime’? BEING DALIT”.

“This is not an isolated incident; it is a chilling display of caste terror, emboldened under CM Mohan Majhi government's rule.

“SHAME on the BJP for creating an India where CASTE HATRED flourishes openly!”,the party said.
