India secure four gold at Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou

Hangzhou, Sep 27:-- India secured four gold so far at the Asian Games 2023 in Hangzhou. This brings the overall medal tally for the country to 16 medals - 4 gold, 5 silver and 7 bronze. Indian trio of Manu Bhaker, Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan won gold medal in the women’s 25m pistol team event at the Asian Games in Hangzhou, today. Meanwhile, Samra Sift Kaur, Ashi Chouksey and Kaushik Manini clinched Silver in the 50m rifle with a score of 1764.
Yesterday, in Equestrian Dressage Team event, the quartet of Hriday Chheda, Anush Agarwalla, Sudipti Hajela and Divyakriit Singh scored 209.205 points to win the gold against China. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated the team for winning the gold medal in the team event after 41 years at the Asian Games. 
 
In women's dinghy ILCA-4 event, Neha Thakur grabbed the Silver medal, yesterday. The 17-year old sailor finished with a net score of 27, winning India's first sailing medal in this edition. Meanwhile, Eabad Ali clinched a bronze medal in the men's windsurfer RS:X event with a net score of 52, showcasing India's rising prominence in the world of sailing. In Tennis, India's mixed double's pair of Yuki Bhambri and Ankita Raina defeated Pakistan's duo Aqeel Khan and Sarah Ibrahim Khan to storm into the third round. Bhambri and Raina will next go up against Philippines in round 3 today. In Tennis Men's singles, Sumit Nagal advanced to the quarter final defeating Kazakhstan's Beibit Zhukayev, 7-6, 6-4 in the Round of 16.
 
 
 
 Today, Indian women’s hockey team will be seen in action for the first time when they take on Singapore. India would also look to secure medals in Tennis where Sumit Nagal, Ankita Raina, and men’s doubles pair of Ramkumara Ramanathan and Saketh Myneni will be in action in their respective quarterfinal matches. In women's Boxing, Nikhat Zareen will be back in the ring. She will be taking on 2022 Asian Championships bronze medallist Chorong Bak of Korea.
 
Squash, Bridge, Basketball, 3x3 Basketball, Cycling, Handball, Equestrian, Fencing, and Table Tennis will be the other events Where India will be in action today.
