New Delhi, May 01, (Fast Mail News):-- During the ongoing bilateral exercise 'Ajeya Warrior' in the United Kingdom, Indian and British Army personnel underwent joint training with each other in various tactical exercises. The aim of the exercise is to build positive military-to-military relations, adopt each other's best practices and enhance the ability to operate together in urban and semi-urban environments under a United Nations mandate.
The 7th edition of the joint military exercise 'Ajeya Warrior-23' between India and the United Kingdom (England) began on 27 April, which will run till 11 May at Salisbury Plain. This biennial training program is conducted alternately in the United Kingdom and India. The previous edition of the exercise took place in October, 2021 at Chaubatia in Uttarakhand. Soldiers from the 2nd Royal Gorkha Rifles from the United Kingdom and soldiers from the Bihar Regiment of the Indian Army are participating in the exercise.
The Indian Army contingent had arrived at Breeze Norton on 26 April in an Air Force C-17 aircraft with indigenous weapons and equipment. The objective of this exercise is to build positive military-to-military relations and also to develop inter-operability, camaraderie and friendly relations between the two armies.
The scope of the exercise includes Command Post Exercise (CPX) at Battalion level and Field Training Exercise (FTX) at Company level. During the exercise, the participants are participating in various missions testing their operational skills in various simulated situations. The exercise is another significant milestone in defense cooperation between the Indian Army and the British Army, which will further boost bilateral relations between the two countries.
