Bihar has become the crime capital of India : Rahul Gandhi

PATNA:On Friday, Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, criticised the Nitish Kumar-led NDA government in Bihar over the deteriorating law and order situation, alleging that Bihar, once considered a land of peace and justice, has now become the "crime capital of India."

He stated, "The BJP and Nitish Ji have turned Bihar from a land of knowledge into the crime capital of India."

Addressing the 'Constitution Protection Conference' in Rajgir, Nalanda, the home district of Nitish Kumar, Rahul Gandhi took a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that Modi remained silent on US President Donald Trump's claims of facilitating peace between India and Pakistan during a military conflict.

Speaking at the conference, Rahul Gandhi said, "Bihar, once regarded as a land of peace and justice, has now become the crime capital of India." He also expressed concerns about whether the central government would conduct a caste census properly, pointing out that "none of the officials finalizing the questionnaire belong to the OBC, Dalit, or tribal communities."

The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha added, "I am fighting to conduct a caste census across the country to protect the Constitution and for the overall betterment of the nation. Whenever we form the government in the future, we will remove the 50 percent cap on reservations and this will begin in Bihar."

On the issue of military conflict between India and Pakistan, the Leader of Opposition remarked, "Trump made a phone call, and Narendra Modi Ji immediately surrendered. Trump has publicly spoken about it (facilitating a ceasefire) at least 11 times. But the Prime Minister is silent on this issue. I know he has nothing to say about it."
