Uttarakhand: Helicopter crash-lands near Kedarnath,pilgrims safe

(Fast Mail):-- A major accident was narrowly avoided in Kedarnath as a private helicopter heading to Kedarnath Dham had to make an emergency landing in Guptkashi, Rudraprayag district, due to a technical malfunction.

All passengers are reportedly onboard are safe.

Officials said that the helicopter took off from Badasu Helipad for Kedarnath but encountered a technical issue mid-flight, forcing an emergency landing on a highway near Sirsi.

A video circulating on social media shows the Kestrel Aviation helicopter stationed in the middle of the highway, dangerously close to residential buildings, with its tail rotor damaging a car.

Authorities confirmed that the helicopter carried six people, including the pilot, all of whom narrowly escaped harm. The pilot, who sustained minor injuries, was taken to a hospital.

Rahul Chaube, the nodal officer for Kedarnath Heli Services, clarified that the incident did not disrupt the service to Kedarnath temple. Efforts are underway to remove the helicopter from the highway.
