PM Modi Held Bilateral talks with Xi Jinping

(Fast Mail News):-- On Sunday morning, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held bilateral talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping during his first visit to China in seven years.

PM Modi  after a gap of seven years is in China to attend the SCO meeting. The bilateral meeting took place in Tianjin between PM Modi and President Xi Jinping, where PM Modi shared significant updates on India-China relations.

During the bilateral meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Prime Minister Modi said, "Last year, we had a very meaningful discussion in Kazan, which gave a positive direction to our relations. After disengagement, an atmosphere of peace and stability has been established on the border."

PM Modi stated, "An agreement on border management has been reached between our Special Representatives. The Kailash Mansarovar Yatra has resumed. Direct flights between the two countries are also being restarted. The interests of the 2.8 billion people of both nations are tied to our cooperation, which will also pave the way for the welfare of humanity. We are committed to advancing our relations based on mutual trust, respect, and sensitivity."

 The bilateral talks indicate that India-China relations are once again on track. Tensions arose between India and China following the clash in the Galwan Valley in June 2020. However, recent efforts have been made to improve relations between the two countries.

Before PM Modi’s visit to China, earlier this month, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi visited India. He held talks in Delhi with External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval.

US President Donald Trump has imposed high tariffs, including 50% on India, 30% on China, 25% on Kazakhstan, and additional tariffs on other SCO countries. It is believed that the issue of tariffs may also be discussed during this SCO meeting.
