Rahul moots strict action against congress workers who work for BJP
(Fast Mail News):-- Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi who was on a two-days visit to Gujarat said that the people of Gujarat want an alternative. "They don’t want a B-team. My responsibility is to sift through these two groups."
He emphasized the need to identify workers and leaders within the party who are working for the BJP.He also warned of strict action against such workers and leaders.
Addressing party workers,Gandhi said,”The Congress Party was originally given leadership by Gujarat, which taught us how to think, fight, and live. Without Gandhiji, the Congress Party could not have secured the country's independence, and without Gujarat, there would have been no Gandhiji. One step behind him, Gujarat gave us Sardar Patel”.
“Today, that same Gujarat is searching for a way forward. The small traders, entrepreneurs, and farmers here are all in crisis. The diamond, textile, and ceramic industries are being ruined. The people of Gujarat are saying that we need a new vision because the vision that has been in place for the last 20-25 years has completely failed,Rahul Gandhi said.
"Gujarat wants a new alternative, but the Congress Party is unable to show it the direction. This is the truth, and I have no shame or fear in saying it. We need to return to the same ideology of the Congress that is Gujarat’s ideology—the one that Gandhiji and Sardar Patel taught us,"the LoP said.
He called upon the congress workers to go among the people and listen to their concerns. “We need to show that we are not just here to raise slogans but to find solutions to their problems. With the 'Bharat Jodo Yatra,' we proved that Congress can easily connect with the people. The moment we bring about this change and start fulfilling our duties, the people of Gujarat will stand with us”,the LoP said.
Speaking to party workers on the second day of his Gujarat visit, Gandhi said that the party’s first task is to separate two groups of Congress workers and leaders: "One group consists of those who hold the party’s ideology in their hearts and stand with the people, and the other group is disconnected from the people, half of whom are aligned with the BJP."
The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha stressed that the party’s primary task is to identify these two groups, even if it requires taking tough measures like removing people. He added that until these groups are separated, the people of Gujarat will not trust the party.
The former Congress president said, "Our district and block presidents and senior leaders must have space in their hearts for the party. They should carry Congress in their veins. Set aside the issue of winning or losing elections. The moment we do this, the people of Gujarat will want to join our organization, and we will open the doors for them."
He claimed that the people of the state are "trapped," with the diamond, textile, and ceramic industries in a dire state.
He noted that Gujarat wants to move forward but cannot see the way ahead, and Congress is unable to show them the path.Gandhi said, "I am not speaking out of shame or fear, but I want to put this before you: we are unable to show Gujarat the way forward. He pointed out that Congress has been out of power in Gujarat for three decades, and whenever he visits the state, discussions revolve around elections.
Gandhi said that over the past 30 years, the Congress leadership in Gujarat has failed to meet the expectations people had of the party. He remarked that Gujarat gave Congress its foundational leadership in the form of Mahatma Gandhi—his thinking, struggle, and way of life."Without Gandhi, Congress could not have won independence for the country",he said.
He added that one of Congress’s five greatest leaders, Sardar Patel, also hailed from Gujarat.
"Our leaders, including myself, need to go among the people of Gujarat, listen to their voices, understand what they expect from me, and what we can do for them—for their education, health, and future. We are here to listen to you",the congress leader said.
Citing the example of Telangana, he said that if the party manages to increase its vote share by five percent, it could come to power in Gujarat. In Telangana, the party succeeded in increasing its vote share by 22 percent.
On Friday, the first day of his visit, Gandhi held meetings with party leaders and district and block-level presidents.
