Sanjay Raut raises questions on sending delegation of MPs

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has raised questions about the government's decision to send delegations of Indian MPs abroad, alleging it is a tactic to divert attention from key issues.

Raut stated that instead of visiting countries like Europe, the US, or African nations, which have little to do with India-Pakistan conflicts, the government should focus on neighboring countries like China to expose Pakistan’s actions, especially given China’s open support for Pakistan.

Raut criticized the government for sending delegations to smaller countries, questioning their relevance to India’s foreign policy, particularly in the context of India-Pakistan relations.

He argued that the government avoids engaging with neighboring countries due to strained relations.

He also questioned the Centre’s authority to decide which MPs from which parties should be included in these delegations, citing the example of Mamata Banerjee’s TMC rejecting the inclusion of Yusuf Pathan and proposing Abhishek Banerjee instead, who is more experienced in such matters.

On being asked if he was satisfied with his party’s decision, Raut said he always respects the party’s stance but believes these delegations will achieve little.

This controversy stems from the government’s plan to send all-party delegations to major countries to highlight the success of Operation Sindoor and expose Pakistan.

However, the selection of MPs has sparked objections from opposition parties, leading to political tensions.
