Shiv Shakti vs Jawahar: BJP, Congress spar over naming of Chandrayaan landing points

 Jawahar Point Chandrayaan-1: PM Modi addressed scientists at ISRO headquarters in Bengaluru on Saturday. During this, he made three big announcements. First- India will celebrate 'National Space Day' every year on 23 August. Second- The place where the lander landed on the south pole of the moon, that place will now be called 'Shiv Shakti' point. Third- The footprint of Chandrayaan-3 will be known as 'Tricolor'.

 Since his address, another word has been trending continuously on social media. That is Jawahar Point. There has been a debate about how it was named? It is related to Chandrayaan-1. Let us inform that Chandrayaan-1 was launched in 2008 during the reign of the Congress government. There is currently a debate on social media regarding the naming of Jawahar Point.

 Know what is Jawahar Point?

Jawahar Point is related to Chandrayaan-1. India launched its first mission to the Moon on 22 October 2008. But about 100 km before reaching the moon. Chandrayaan-1 has already crashed. His crash landing took place at the South Pole. The day on which his crash landing took place was 14 November. Everyone knows that on this day the birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru is celebrated. That's why the launching site of Chandrayaan-1 was named Jawahar Point.

The name of the landing site of PM Modi's Chandrayaan-3 is the name of Shivshakti Point. BJP spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala tweeted that first India vs family. He wrote that the landing or impact point of Chandrayaan-1 was named Jawahar Point. Whereas the landing point of Chandrayaan-2 is called Tiranga Point and the landing point of Chandrayaan-3 is called Shivshakti Point.

Poonwala wrote that Vikram Lander was named after Sarabhai. He said that if the UPA government was there, today Chandrayaan-2 and Chandrayaan-3 would not have been launched at all. After this tweet of his, there was a competition on social media between BJP and Congress leaders to take credit.
