US President Trump Makes Big Claim Again, Says: 'Heard India Will No Longer Buy Oil from Russia, This Is a Good Step...

(Fast Mail News):-- US President Donald Trump has once again made a significant statement regarding India, saying this time, his claim pertains to India and Russia's oil trade.

Trump stated that he has heard India will no longer buy oil from Russia. However, he added that he cannot vouch for the accuracy of this information.

Trump made this remark during an interview with American media, where he was asked whether the US would impose any penalties on India or if there could be discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on this matter.

The US President said, “I’ve heard that India is no longer going to buy oil from Russia. I don’t know if that’s true or not, but if it is, it’s a good step.Let’s see what happens.”

Is India Stopping Oil Purchases from Russia?

India is the world’s third-largest crude oil importer, and since 2022, Russia has been a major supplier, particularly at discounted rates. However, recent reports suggest that Indian state-owned refineries have temporarily halted purchases from Russia due to diminishing discounts, payment issues, and logistical challenges. So far, there has been no official statement from the Indian government on this matter.

 America’s Displeasure

Trump’s statement comes at a time when the US is exerting economic pressure on Russia due to the Ukraine war. The US does not want India to purchase oil, weapons, or other strategic resources from Russia.

Recently, the US has also increased trade tariffs on India. Trump had previously stated that India imposes high tariffs on American products while continuing to buy military and energy resources from Russia.

He called this trade “unfair and one-sided.”

Trump said, “We have problems with trade with India. They don’t buy much from us, they buy oil and weapons from Russia, and they impose some of the highest tariffs in the world on our products.”
