Uttarakhand: Charges framed against the accused in the famous Ankita Bhandari murder case

Dehradun, Mar 18, (Fast Mail News):-- The three accused in the famous Ankita Bhandari murder case of Uttarakhand were presented in the Simlachod court at Kotdwar on Saturday, where the court read out the charges framed against the three accused on the basis of the charge sheet filed by the SIT probing the matter. Rejecting the bail plea of these accused, the court has now fixed the next hearing of the matter on March 28.

 

The court has imposed several serious sections of crimes like murder, prostitution, erasing and concealing the evidence of murder on these three accused. While hearing the bail petitions of Pulkit Arya and Ankit in the court, the matter has been dismissed considering it as a heinous crime. The court has already rejected the bail plea of Saurabh, the third accused in the murder case. Now the court has fixed the date of March 28 for the next hearing of the matter.

 

Charges framed against Ankita's killers after six months-

 

Finally, after 6 months, the court framed charges against the three accused in the famous Ankita Bhandari case, Pulkit Arya, Saurabh and Ankit. Amidst tight security, today the police took the three accused from jail to the court. The matter is now being heard by the court of ADJ Pratibha Tiwari of Kotdwar. On the basis of the charge sheet filed in the court of the SIT probing the case, the court has framed charges against these three accused, in which many serious sections including 302 section of murder have been imposed. Now this matter will be taken up for further regular hearing. The court has fixed the date of next hearing on March 28.

 

 

 

After the refusal of the High Court to hear, the family has filed a petition in the Supreme Court.

 

All the three accused in the murder had rejected the SIT's attempts to conduct polygraph and narco tests. Saurabh, an accused in this case, had moved his bail plea in the court, which has already been rejected by the court. The court has also rejected the bail pleas of the main accused Pulkit Arya, in whose resort Ankita Bhandari worked as a receptionist, and her manager Ankit.

 

Relatives of the deceased Ankita Bhandari had approached the High Court regarding the CBI inquiry into the matter, but the court rejected the demand for a CBI inquiry, expressing satisfaction with the SIT's investigation, but Ashutosh Negi objected to this order of the High Court. Saying it wrong, a petition has been filed in the Supreme Court for a CBI inquiry, which is to be heard.

 

During the appearance of the accused in the Ankita Bhandari murder case in the Simlachod Court, Kotdwar today, Congress women workers protested and raised slogans in Kotdwar. These women also had a fierce encounter with the police when they were stopped from entering the court premises. These Congress women raised slogans against the government and the police and demanded the hanging of the accused. The police arrested these protesting women, who were later released.

 

Significantly, Ankita Bhandari, working as a receptionist at Vannatara Resort located in Gangabhogpur revenue area of Pauri district, suddenly went missing on September 18. After Ankita's disappearance, her father lodged a report at the Revenue Police Station. In this case, the Revenue Police could not take any action for three days.
