'We will wipe out BJP' in by-elections and the next assembly elections as well: Akhilesh Yadav

LUCKNOW: Samajwadi Party (SP) President Akhilesh Yadav on Tuesday accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of trying to weaken democracy by influencing the election process and said that his party is ready to defeat BJP in the upcoming by-elections after the Lok Sabha elections and the 2027 assembly elections as well.

Addressing party workers at the party's state headquarters, Yadav accused the ruling party, "BJP considers it its right to destroy the democratic system. It also works to influence the election process. BJP wants to weaken democracy. There is a need to be alert and cautious against these conspiracies of BJP. BJP's intentions are not right."

He said that SP has defeated BJP in the Lok Sabha elections held this year and now his party is ready to wipe out BJP in the upcoming by-elections and the upcoming 2027 assembly elections.

In the Lok Sabha elections held in June this year, SP gave a shocking defeat to BJP and won 37 out of 80 seats in Uttar Pradesh, while its ally Congress got success in six seats. Yadav said that SP is also running a campaign to make voters aware to "thwart the conspiracy" of BJP against the constitutional rights of the people.

He told the workers, "They should get the work of correcting the voter list done on priority so that BJP does not succeed in any conspiracy or conspiracy. The public and all the voters should take care that BJP does not succeed in its nefarious attempt to win the election by making any tampering in the voter list."

Yadav said that any organisation runs with truth and integrity and SP leaders should maintain close contact with the public and treat them with respect.
