54 people have died in Manipur violence so far, the government sent additional security personnel
New Delhi, May 6, (Fast Mail News):-- So far 54 people have lost their lives due to violence in Manipur. Of the 54 dead, 16 bodies have been kept in the mortuary of Churachandpur District Hospital, while 15 bodies are at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal East, PTI reported. Apart from this, the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences at Lamphel in Imphal West has confirmed the death of 23 people. About 10,000 soldiers of the Army and Assam Rifles have been deployed in the state to control the situation.
PTI quoted sources as saying that several people were killed in the violent clash between the two communities. There is news of more than 100 people being injured. Although the police was not ready to confirm this. It was told that these bodies were brought from districts like Imphal East and West, Churachandpur and Bishenpur. At the same time, the treatment of many people injured due to bullet injuries is also going on in RIMS and Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences. More troops of Army, Rapid Action Force and Central Police forces have been sent to Manipur to control the violence.
