Airbus company will deliver aircraft to Air India by the end of this year

New Delhi, Feb 27, (Fast Mail News):-- Air India Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Campbell Wilson said on Monday that the Airbus company will also start delivery of Airbus aircraft to private sector airline Air India by the end of this year. Apart from this, the process of integration of Air India with Vistara airline is going on and now the approval of the Competition Commission of India (CCI) is awaited in this matter.

 

Addressing the media virtually, CEO Campbell Wilson said that Air India has placed orders for 470 aircraft with Airbus and Boeing, valued at $70 billion (Rs 5.8 lakh crore). He said that Air India has huge potential. The process of integration of Vistara with Air India is underway. Wilson said approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) is now awaited.

 

 

 

 Simultaneously, the process of integration of Air India Express and AIX Connect (formerly AirAsia India) is underway, he said. The Air India CEO said that efforts are on to make the group a significant international airline. Wilson said it would be funded from a variety of sources. However, he added that there is no time frame for the option to buy 370 more aircraft. We will assess the market and only then any action will be taken in this regard.

 

The Tata group had acquired the public sector airline Air India in January last year. The group had taken it over for Rs 18,000 crore. On February 14, Air India announced an order for 470 aircraft, including 70 widebody aircraft. Earlier, Campbell Wilson had said that Air India wants to increase its market share by 30 per cent on both domestic and international routes in the next 5 years.
