Angul Rape And Murder Case: Police To Pray For Fast Track Court For Speedy Trial

ANGUL: After arresting the lone accused Babula Jena,35 in connection with the sensational rape and murder of a 5-year-old girl in village Pidhakhaman on last Thursday ,police is seeking a fast track court to try the case.

”We will approach court to set up fast track court to try this rape and murder case and will file the charge-sheet within 15 days time. Given the seriousness of the crime a DSP rank officer has been assigned the investigation work”,said Angul SP Rahul Jain.

He confirmed this as a case of rape and murder as per the admission of the accused and seizure of the evidences.

Police sources said, Babula, a mason by profession resides in village Pidhakhaman alone as his wife has left him following consistent quarrel. On last Thursday,Babula saw the girl playing in her yard.He showed his mobile to her and allured her to his house nearby.There he allegedly raped her and later murdered her to hide his identity,

Sources said,after that he kept the body till Friday evening at his house.He dumped the body at a jungle near the village on Friday evening.The family members and villagers who were searching for the girl traced the body on Saturday morning and informed the police.

Angul SP Rahul Jain,SDPO RK Mahalik and IIC,Nisa police station rushed to the spot and began vigorous inestigations by pressing scientific teams and dogs.The police investigating team found a vital clue leading to the detention of the accused Babula.On interrogation Babula confessed to commit the crime and led to the seizure of blood-stained cloths.he was arrested and yesterday and forwarded to court today on the charge of rape and murder.
