Chief Minister Should Apologise to People for Using Abusive Language: PCC President Bhakta Charan Das

NUAPADA/BHUBANESWAR: Coming down heavily on BJP,the PCC President Bhakta Charan Das accused the BJP of spending 15/20 lakh rupees on posters and hoardings just for one meeting and they pasted posters on trees and electric poles.”The BJP spent two to three crores on posters and flags. DJ campaign vehicles blocked roads and stayed for hours”.
“For meetings, thousands of people from outside were being brought in buses. Seeing the crowds, they created artificial crowds claiming there is support for the party. But the people come to Congress meetings voluntarily”, as maintained.
When the media asked why the Congress crowds are not that large, Das said, “Our crowds are not for show. We don't have to spend money to bring people”.
“Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, BJD had paid 500 rupees each to gather 10,000 people. But by the time Naveen Babu started his speech, only a thousand or fifteen hundred people were left. This is the situation with orchestrated crowds”, the PCC President alleged.
He stated that local people are coming to Congress meetings, spending from their own pockets. This is the difference between them and us,he said, adding whichever gram panchayat we go to, people come on their own and join us. They are cooperating with us from the heart”,he said.
“They are only doing election management”Das alleged.
Refuting allegations over his relations with BJD,the PCC President clarified that some are baselessly charging me that there has been a deal between Bhakta Das and BJD. But he wanted to say that Chief Minister Mohan Majhi and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik talking to me,we can’t go to that level.
“ The pains of the people in this region are indescribable. There is no incentive for farmers, no water from Tikahli Dam, no women's college, no teachers, no equipment in hospitals, no specialists, unemployment, contractual jobs, etc.—if we talk about these, it's dismissed. Instead of talking about solutions to these problems, it is extremely unfortunate that the Chief Minister is asking people to come and see a new helicopter”,he said.
“Thousands of planes are flying over Sunabeda to Raipur. And this is not the era of showing helicopters. If they had done some developmental work, they wouldn't have had to call people to see helicopters and become a laughingstock”, said President Mr. Das.
Criticising the Chief Minister , he said, "How can a Chief Minister use words like 'pandu' and another word "Ga....." that I cannot even utter in a public meeting?
Using such abusive language in a public place is a punishable offense under the law and falls under criminal offenses." "Why shouldn't action be taken against him for using such abusive words in front of ordinary people, mothers, and sisters?" Das said.
Questioning whether the Chief Minister, who is himself the head of the Home Department, has he the courage to take police action? He demanded that the Chief Minister apologise to the state residents for this indecent behavior.
"Our Congress candidate Ghasiram Mati's son is on the path of truth. His victory is certain. From the day of victory, Nuapada's victory march will begin," Mr. Das told the media.
He extended heartfelt thanks to all media persons and gratitude to all residents of Nuapada for their enthusiasm, and warm welcome towards the Congress.Speaking to media at Nuapada,Das said that the congress party and all its leaders from the party have conducted the election campaign in a completely democratic manner.
We have held detailed discussions with the district Bar Association, various citizens, youth associations, cooperative societies, and different communities on why Nuapada is being neglected. I have got the opportunity to revive my connection with Nuapada. Therefore, thanks again to Nuapada.
