Congress Swipes At Self-Proclaimed Vishwaguru's Huglomacy !

(Fast Mail):-- The Congress party on Saturday targeted the Narendra Modi government in the context of talks between American and Iranian negotiators in Islamabad.

The party questioned how Pakistan was given a role in resolving the West Asia crisis despite events like ‘Howdy Modi’ and ‘Namaste Trump’.

Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government of failing to isolate Pakistan internationally after the Pahalgam terror attack.

He contrasted this with the way the then Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh’s government had successfully isolated Islamabad globally after the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks.

Jairam Ramesh posted on ‘X’:“Today, the US-Iran meeting has begun in Islamabad. India and the entire world hope that this will mark the beginning of a sustainable peace process between the two countries, one that is not derailed by Israel’s continuous aggression.”

Targeting Prime Minister Modi, he said: “The ‘essence and style’ of the self-proclaimed Vishwaguru’s glory raise serious questions. Despite India’s diplomatic efforts to isolate Pakistan after the brutal Pahalgam terror attack in April 2025, how has Pakistan managed to carve out a new role for itself?

This failure is particularly damaging because after the November 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, Dr. Manmohan Singh’s government had very effectively isolated Pakistan.”

He further questioned:“Even after Prime Minister Modi and his ‘cheerleaders’ conducted ‘Namaste Trump’, ‘Howdy Modi’, and then the ‘Once Again Trump Administration’ campaigns, how did India allow America to give Pakistan this new role?”

‘Howdy Modi’ was held on 22 September 2019 in Houston, USA, and was addressed by Prime Minister Modi and Donald Trump.

‘Namaste Trump’ was held on 24 February 2020 in Ahmedabad, where Prime Minister Modi welcomed Donald Trump.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh said:“India also clearly agreed to a one-sided trade deal, yet the Modi government failed to extract any benefits from the United States.”

He questioned why India, as the current chair of ‘BRICS Plus’, did not initiate any peace or mediation effort, especially since Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Saudi Arabia are all members of BRICS Plus.

He also asked what India had gained from its “well-thought-out surrender” before China in the last 18 months, especially when China cooperated with Pakistan in its response to ‘Operation Sindoor’.

The Congress leader said:“Peace must return soon to West Asia. The Strait of Hormuz must return to the same situation that existed before the US-Israel attack on Iran began on 28 February.”
