Constitution is in Danger : Kharge Accuses BJP of Trying to Erase Secularism and Socialism
BHUBANESWAR: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led central government is attempting to remove secularism and socialism from the Constitution.
Addressing the party’s ‘Samvidhan Bachao Samabesa' at Bhubaneswar , Kharge said that Dalits, tribals, and youth of the country must learn to fight for their rights under BJP rule.
He said, “The BJP government at the Center is trying to remove secularism and socialism from our Constitution.”
Kharge further claimed that BJP supporters are attacking Dalits and government officials in Odisha.
The Congress President added, “If Dalits, tribals, and youth do not learn to fight for their rights, the BJP will wipe them out.”
Targeting the Center, he said that the Congress government established 160 public sector undertakings in India, while the BJP government has “privatized 23 of them.”

Addressing the gathering,he said, “Poor people and Dalits have no place in the government. The first task is a caste census. This will help the poor and Dalits understand their true strength.”
In Odisha, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said that Odisha is a model of the BJP. “These people are giving all your wealth to 5-6 big companies. I just met with delegations of farmers and women, listened to their voices, and heard their pain and suffering. Water, forest, and land belong to tribals and will remain with them”.
He further said, here, tribals are displaced from their land without consultation, and the PESA law is not implemented. Tribals are not given land leases. This land is theirs, the water is theirs, and the forests are theirs. The Congress party brought the PESA law and the Tribal Bill. We will ensure these laws are implemented and will get tribals their land back.”
