Kharge Calls For United Fight to Protect 'Water, Forest, Land' ; Says BJP Government Trying to Intimidate Everyone in the Country
(Fast Mail):-- Addressing a public gathering in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, on Monday, Congress National President Mallikarjun Kharge accused the BJP-led Modi government of attempting to intimidate everyone in the country and urged people to unite in the fight to protect their "water, forest, and land."
He said that to save the country, we must stand united. "BJP-RSS has no love for Dalits and tribals. On one hand, they make grand promises, while on the other, they invite people like Adani and Ambani to take away our water, forests, and land. Lakhs of trees are being cut here, and the environment is being destroyed."
Speaking at the ‘Jai Jawan-Jai Kisan-Jai Constitution’ rally at the Science College ground in the state capital, Raipur, Kharge alleged that the poor are being looted under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government.
He said, "The BJP is trying to scare our leaders using central agencies like the ED (Enforcement Directorate) and IT (Income Tax), but we will never be intimidated. Even now, in Chhattisgarh, our leaders, including former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, are being harassed."
The Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha claimed, “They always try to defame the Congress. Intimidating everyone is their habit. You will survive only if you refuse to be scared. If we are to protect our water, forests, and land, all of you must unite in this fight against them."
He stated that Prime Minister Modi claims in his speeches, "As long as Modi is here, everything is safe."
Kharge alleged, "Today, people like Adani and Ambani are coming here to seize land. They are cutting down lakhs of trees in forests for mining. Modi ji is ruining the lives of our tribal brothers and all the people of Chhattisgarh."
The Congress chief questioned why Union Home Minister Amit Shah keeps visiting Chhattisgarh repeatedly, asking, “Is your in-laws’ house here?”
He added, “The Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh follows the instructions of the Prime Minister and Home Minister. If they say stand, he stands. If they say sit, he sits. This is a great betrayal of Chhattisgarh’s pride. It is a huge insult."
Kharge accused industrialists of coming here to loot coal and other minerals, while no one comes to check on the welfare of the people. He alleged that Prime Minister Modi and Home Minister Shah support these industrialists.
The Congress president claimed that Amit Shah visits Chhattisgarh to inspect minerals. Despite heavy rainfall, a large number of Congress workers and leaders attended the rally.
