Maharashtra's Fadnavis government is not a fairly elected government : Sanjay Raut
MUMBAI: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Monday alleged that Devendra Fadnavis government was not a fairly elected government, citing a "sudden surge in voting in the last few hours" in the November Maharashtra assembly elections.
The BJP-led coalition 'Mahayuti' won the election by winning 230 seats in the 288-member assembly, while the Shiv Sena (UBT) won only 20 seats.
This government was not elected in a fair manner, Raut told reporters here, questioning the sudden increase in voting in the last few hours is a scam.
He said, “The Election Commission (ECI) is not able to give a proper answer on this. There has been an increase of 76 lakh votes (in the state), which means 20,000-25,000 votes in 150 seats or 100-150 votes per polling station”.
Raut alleged the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena was working on the directives of Union Home Minister and BJP chief strategist Amit Shah.
"This is a party created by the BJP.Shiv Sena will not be united in the future”,Raut said.
