Massive IT Raid On Liquor Baron Bikram Sahoo In Angul
ANGUL: Income Tax sleuths conducted massive raids of the houses and establishment of noted liquor trader Bikram Sahoo from this early morning on the reported complaint of tax evasion.
Unconfirmed reports says that the IT officials have unearthed crores of money illegally procured by Sahoo without paying taxes.Though the raid started from early this morning and is still continuing,there is no official information from Income Tax offcials and from Sahoo.
According to reports,several teams of income tax department have conducted raids at 25 locations in the state,including,TalcherKamakhyanagar,Dhenkanal,Bhubaneswar,Puri and Paralakhemundi.The raid was conducted simultaneously.
It may be noted that Sahoo has been running a large business network in liquor ,filling stations,rice mills and other businesses spreading over mostly at Talcher,Angul and Dhenkanal.There was also earlier income tax raids on the Sahoo at these locations.
