PM Modi's 'billionaire Raj' is more unequal than British Raj : Jairam Ramesh

NEW DELHI: The Congress on Thursday alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'billionaire Raj' is more inequal than the British Raj.

Party General Secretary Jairam Ramesh also claimed that when many countries are united on the idea of ??'billionaire tax' around the world, the Government of India has kept silence.

Ramesh posted on 'X', "India has become a new billionaire every five days in 2023. Non-biological Prime Minister's closest friends are at the top in the list of billionaires. "

He alleged, "Narendra Modi's billionaire Raj is more than unequal than the British Raj. But this is also the basis of this government's economic policy formulation. "

Ramesh said that this is the reason that at a time when countries around the world are coalescing on the idea of ??'billionaire tax', India is clearly silent and is blind towards rapidly growing economic inequalities.
