Rahul Gandhi attacks Election Commission again over SIR

(Fast Mail):--Congress MP Rahul Gandhi,in a scathing attack on Tuesday once again targeted the Election Commission over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists and alleged "vote theft" in Bihar.

He stated that "one person, one vote" is the foundation of the Constitution, and it is the Election Commission's duty to enforce it, but they have failed to do so.

Citing the case of 124-year-old Minta Devi in Bihar, Rahul Gandhi raised questions about the transparency of the voter list revision (SIR), saying that countless such cases have come to light.

Speaking to the media outside Parliament House on the SIR issue, the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha said, "It’s not just one seat; there are many seats. This is being done at a national level and in a systematic manner.

The Election Commission knows it, and we know it too. Earlier, we didn’t have evidence, but now we do. We are protecting the Constitution. 'One voter, one vote' is the foundation of the Constitution, and it is the Election Commission’s duty to enforce it, but they haven’t. We (the opposition) are only protecting the Constitution and will continue to do so; we won’t stop.

"Referring to the Election Commission’s claim during the SIR process that a woman named Minta Devi in Bihar is 124 years old, Rahul Gandhi said, "Countless such cases have come to light. The picture is yet to unfold."

Meanwhile, Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi said that they are opposing vote theft. Rahul Gandhi pointed out that the voter list contains fake names and addresses. It is worth noting that MPs from the opposition INDIA bloc protested against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists in Bihar and alleged "vote theft."

During the protest, several opposition leaders, including Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi, wore white T-shirts featuring a picture of the alleged 124-year-old voter Minta Devi, with the text "124 Not Out." Through this, opposition leaders raised questions about the Election Commission’s SIR process.
