Rahul Gandhi Targets BJP Over Demolitions, Says It Shows Insensitivity Towards the Poor and Arrogance of Power

(Fast Mail):-- Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Sunday said  that hundreds of slum dwellers in Delhi are enduring the pain of homelessness because the BJP government demolished their homes.

He claimed that this "atrocity" exposes the ruling party's insensitivity towards the poor and its "arrogance of power."

The Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha shared a video of his recent visit to Delhi's Ashok Vihar area, where the administration had razed many people's homes.

In a post on X, sharing a video, Rahul Gandhi said, "Imagine how it would feel if the roof over your parents, children, or siblings was suddenly taken away—if your entire family was made homeless in a single moment. Hundreds of poor families living in Delhi's slums are going through this very pain today."

He added, "The small homes that held their entire lives were mercilessly destroyed by the BJP government. These were not just houses—they were their dreams, their dignity, and their means of survival."

The Congress leader further stated, "This atrocity carried out under the guise of administration reveals the BJP's insensitivity towards the poor and the arrogance of power. We stand firmly with these displaced families. This fight is no longer just about homes; it is about justice and humanity—and we will fight on every front."

Last week, Rahul Gandhi met with some families in Ashok Vihar's Jhelrawala Bagh and Wazirpur, whose homes were "demolished by the BJP government in Delhi with bulldozers."

In the video, Gandhi is seen interacting with the displaced families. The Congress leader assured them of raising their issues and providing legal assistance.

Last month, the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) conducted an anti-encroachment drive in West Delhi's Ashok Vihar, demolishing over 300 illegal structures.A similar anti-encroachment drive was carried out by Indian Railways in the Wazirpur area of North Delhi.
