Rahul-Tejashwi Releases 'Extremely Backward Cast' Justice Manifesto in Patna

PATNA: In the capital of Bihar, Patna, on Wednesday, amid an important meeting of the Congress Working Committee, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi, Tejashwi Yadav, and other leaders of the Mahagathbandhan released the Extremely Backward Casts(EBCs) Justice Manifesto in a programme.

The Mahagathbandhan has promised to implement 10 resolutions through this manifesto for the upliftment of the Extremely Backward community.

Leaders of the constituent parties of the Mahagathbandhan, including Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, were present at the Extremely Backward Justice Resolution program and pledged to implement the 10 resolutions.

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said that today in the country, the population that exists does not get proportional participation. He thanked the people of Bihar for their support in the Voter Rights Yatra.

On caste census, he said,”In the Lok Sabha, I had said two things in front of Narendra Modi ji. There will be a caste-based census in the country and we will break the 50% wall in reservations. The thinking behind this was that even today in the country, the Extremely Backward, Backward, Dalit, Tribal, and Minority classes do not get the participation they deserve. This will make everything clear”.

In the country, Extremely Backward, Tribals, OBCs, and Dalits do not get the participation they deserve. We want to give a vision to the Extremely Backward class”,he said.

Targeting the Nitish government, Rahul Gandhi said that they have been in power in Bihar for 20 years, but they have not done any work. He said that this is the vision of the Extremely Backward and fulfilling it, is our guarantee.

Rahul Gandhi said that caste-based protests are now banned in Uttar Pradesh. On one side, there is such thinking, while on the other side is our thinking—where we want to give a vision to the Extremely Backward society.

He said,”This vision is not ours or of any party, but of the Extremely Backward society. In line with this, we have prepared 10 key points by discussing with leaders and people of the Extremely Backward society”.

Mentioning the 10 promises, he said that an Extremely Backward Atrocities Prevention Law will be enacted in Bihar on the lines of SC-ST, and a provision for 50 percent reservation for EBC, OBC, SC, ST in government contracts and supply tenders up to 25 crore rupees will be made.

In addition, reservation will be implemented in admissions to all private educational institutions in the state, and a high-powered Reservation Regulatory Authority will be constituted to oversee reservations.

He further said that the 20 percent reservation for the Extremely Backward class in panchayats and municipal bodies will be increased to 30 percent. In addition, to increase the 50 percent cap on reservations in proportion to the population, the law passed by the legislature will be sent to the central government for inclusion in the 9th Schedule of the Constitution.

He said that residential landless people will be given 3 decimal land in urban areas and 5 decimal in rural areas. Assuring the audience, he said that this is the guarantee of the Mahagathbandhan and it will be fulfilled.

Rahul Gandhi said that the Nitish Kumar government has been in Bihar for 20 years, but they have not taken decisions to deliver justice to the Extremely Backward society. We held meetings with the Extremely Backward society, talked to the people of the society, and prepared the 'Extremely Backward Justice Resolution'.

Nitish Kumar was only taking votes and in return suppressing the voice of the rights of the Extremely Backward society. Our promise is that as soon as the government is formed, the Extremely Backward Justice Resolution will be implemented.

Addressing the programme, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that I fully support the '10 Point Programme' prepared by all the leaders of the Extremely Backward society and other people. This resolution has been prepared by Rahul Gandhi Ji, Tejashwi Yadav ji, and the leaders of the Mahagathbandhan.

As soon as our government comes, we will work on these points. There are many societies in the country that are deprived of their rights. We have to give them their rights and move them forward. We have all resolved together that as soon as our government comes, this '10 Point Program' will be implemented.

Kharge further said that if Nitish Kumar has gone to the BJP, it clearly means—he wants to run Manuvad.

The BJP government in the country clearly means that the lives of the poor, backward, and Dalits will be ruined. Those who used to run on an ideology in the name of society, today those same people have fallen into the lap of the BJP. Therefore, you have to fight with full strength for your rights.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav said that our vision is to advance the Extremely Backward society. On the other hand, all the ministers of the NDA are the biggest enemies of the society, who work only for their own benefit and do nothing for the society.

The truth is that Nitish Kumar and BJP are 'reservation thieves'. Nitish ji is unaware of what is happening in Bihar and the state government is being run by PM Modi and Amit Shah.

The programme was also addressed by VIP chief Mukesh Sahni, Bihar Congress President Rajesh Ram, Leader of the Legislative Party in Bihar Assembly Shakil Ahmad Khan, and several other leaders.
