Six injured in hot ballon explosion at Mahakumbh
NEW DELHI: In Prayagraj Mahakumbh, a hot air balloon filled with helium gas exploded during the bathing festival of Basant Panchami in Sector 20 area of ??Kumbh area, causing serious injuries to 6 devotees in its basket.
The condition of one of these devotees is said to be critical. The injured were immediately referred to Swarup Rani Nehru Hospital run by the Medical College.
The accident occurred when the balloon was flying above the ground filling with helium gas.The balloon exploded causing serious burn injuries.
All of them have been reportedly referred to Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital run by the Medical College in view of their serious condition where they are being treated. The condition of one of the injured is said to be critical.
The injured are identified as 27-year-old Pradeep, 13-year-old Aman, 16-year-old Nikhil, 50-year-old Mayank, 32-year-old Lalit and 25-year-old Shubham.
Among them, Pradeep and Nikhil hail from Rishikesh while Aman hails from Haridwar, Lalit from Khargone in Madhya Pradesh, Shubham from Indore and Mayank hails from Prayagraj. Earlier, 30 people lost their lives due to stampede in Mahakumbh on the day of Mouni Amavasya.
