Uttar Pradesh: Five People, Including Two Children and Two Women Burnt Alive in Bus Fire

 Five people, including two children, died in the incident, a police officer confirmed after  a private bus traveling from Bihar to Delhi caught fire on the Kisan Path in the Mohanlalganj area of Lucknow this morning.

Additional Police Commissioner (Mohanlalganj) Rajneesh Verma stated that the private bus, whi was traveling from Begusarai in Bihar to Delhi, suddenly caught fire around 5 a.m. in Lucknow.

He said that the fire resulted in deaths of two children, two women, and one man on board. Several others were injured and have been taken to a hospital for treatment.

 

 Verma added that preliminary investigations suggest the fire was caused by a short circuit in the bus’s gearbox.

It is reported that the bus was carrying approximately 80 passengers. At the time of the fire, most passengers were asleep. Firefighters who arrived at the scene managed to control the blaze within half an hour. Police investigations revealed that the bus’s emergency door failed to open, preventing passengers from escaping.

Eyewitnesses described the fire as so intense that flames were visible from a kilometer away.
